I was a voracious reader as a child. I wanted to be an author but didn't think I was smart enough. It took me until my 30s to realize that yes, I am quite smart, and I can write a book. I don't care for rules in general, and I especially don't like an elite group of people getting to decide whether I get to make art or not. And, if they decide I get to make art, they would also insist on having a strong input on my art. No, thank you. Early on, I decided to be my own boss. I'm an author and a businesswoman. I've never regretted it. Not for a second. 

After many years writing  for fun I retired and joined a writers group. The people have become mentors and helped me organize my ideas into novels. In less than two years I have self published five novels and am working on three more. Thank you Write Publish and Market.

Every writer has their own approach to handling new ideas. Personally, I focus on the project at hand, ensuring I see it through to completion. However, I keep a pinboard where I jot down new ideas as they come to me, so they aren’t lost. This way, I can revisit them later without derailing my current work.

Simple I was raised in the Dominican Republic, lived in Jamaica, spent twenty years traveling to Indonesia and past many a week in New Mexico. All those memories hopefully bring the locations to life for you.

My favourite character that I have created is Anoush, the protagonist for my historical fiction Angel of Aleppo. Anoush is based in part upon my wife Lilit's many sterling characteristics, but she is also named for and has the incredible courage and forebearance of Lilit's grandmother Anoush. She needs courage and an internal faith of a rare order to survive the tests she must endure. Because she is a character based in the previous century at a time of great upheaval, significant research into contemporary detail of character and attitude, as well as events was mandatory.

I am a Newbie or, in other words, a New Author. This is my First and Only book.My book was published by Book Baby that is located in Pennsauken,  (Southern) New Jersey.

They usually just come to me out of the blue—sitting in traffic, lying in bed. My mind is always in the “on” position, which can be both a blessing and a curse! I also find people-watching often triggers ideas.

 I have always wanted to write a book but during my working years could not find the time. Now retried, I decided to take the plunge. Looking at the traditional methods of using a publisher was too costly. So I began self-publishing and have enjoyed that experience.
